Anna Grace Hicks Hall, 86, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.
She was born on February 7, 1930, in Floyd Co., Ky., the daughter of Arthur Lee Hicks and Arizona Minix Hicks Renix.
Survivors include: her husband of 69 years, Joe S. Hall of Richmond; children, Joey Hall (Jill) of Independence, and Margie H. Tussey (Ronnie) of Kirksville; five grandchildren, Angela Stephan (Clifford) of Louisville, Scott Tussey (Beth) of Richmond, and Brian, Kevin and Erin Hall of Independence; and three precious great-grandchildren, Anna Grace, Marie Jane Stephan and Owen Samuel Tussey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her dear grandmother, Cleo Risner Hicks of Floyd Co., who raised her; her brothers, John, Carl, Patrick and Arthur Hicks Jr., and sisters, Mary Alice and Cleo.
Anna was a graduate of EKU. She was a retired teacher from Madison County Schools, where she worked as a science teacher and guidance counselor. She was a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and a former member of the Eastern Star and Democratic Women's Club.
Anna loved her home and family. She was a expert cook, seamstress and enjoyed many types of crafts and handwork. She loved feeding birds and gardening in her yard.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Johnathan Tussey officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Scott Tussey, Brian Hall, Clifford Stephan, Angela Stephan, Erin Hall, Beth Tussey, Kevin Hall, and son-in-law, Ronnie Tussey.
