Barbara Jean Smith Moberly, 75, wife of the late Rev. Orbin Otha Moberly, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at her home in Kirksville, Kentucky.
A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Rettie Stewart Smith. She was a housewife and a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church.
She loved her church, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed singing at church and was the wife of the founding pastor, Rev. Orbin Moberly. She was considered The Church Momma. She also started the Churchs Food Box Ministry.
Survivors include two sons, Duane Moberly (Donna) of Kirksville, KY; Greg Moberly (Bonnie) of Richmond, KY; one daughter, Tina Horn (Rickey) of Richmond, KY; grandchildren, Jessica Pruitt (Shannon), Jamica Baker (Aaron), Joe David Moberly, Melissa Horn Williams (Brian) and Jennifer Broughton; great grandchildren, Javan Richardson, Jace Ruble, Kinzley Baker, Graysen Baker, Jenna Broughton, Savannah Broughton, Sam Williams, Caden Williams and Cameron Williams; one sister, Christine Centers; and many nieces, nephews. Two very special family friends, Judy King and Terri Brandenburg and members of her loving church family. In addition to her husband and parents she was also preceded in death by three sisters, Ellen Durham, Martha Brown and Juanita Smith; and three brothers Robert Smith, Elijah Smith and Carlos Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Pastor Rickey Horn officiating the services. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Joe David Moberly, Alfred Winkler, Chuck Spangler, Aaron Baker, Ricky Centers, Allan Horn and Darren Horn. Honorary pallbearers will be Neal Rogers, Bobby Griggs, David York and Gilbert Dukie Moberly.
Barbara will be honored by her Church The Full Gospel Tabernacle in Kirksville by serving a meal following the graveside services and all are welcome to attend.
