Betty's Story

Betty Claunch Burdine, 86, the widow of Winfield Burdine, passed away Wednesday morning, March 1, 2017.
Betty was born in Dayton Ohio, the daughter of the late Oma Lee and Lydia Mills McKinney. She was a retired Travel Manager for Blue Grass AAA in Lexington and had attended the Emanuel Baptist Church in Berea. For ten years following her retirement, Betty volunteered with Hospice Care Plus.
Survivors include: one son, Scott Burdine; a brother, Oma Lee "Sonny" Claunch (Janet); two sisters, Patricia Sutton and Margaret Owens; two special friends, Peggi Frazier and Christian Lee Coy; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Kays officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
The family will receive friends beginning at 12 Noon Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Roy Lucas, John Wells, Monty Moore, Joe Scott and Shannon Combs.
