Billy Wayne Dennis, 73, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.
He was born May 14, 1943, in Madison County to the late Elmo and Anna Richardson Dennis. Billy was a retired business owner who ran the former B & J General Store at Round Hill. He was an Army veteran during the Vietnam era and a member of Kirksville Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, but most of all loved spending time with his family and granddaughters.
Survivors include: his wife, Virginia Burns Dennis of Richmond; their son, John A. Dennis (Erica) of Berea; one sister, Margaret Dennis Sowder of Richmond; two granddaughters, Sara Faith Dennis and Sheila Bray, along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Jack Dennis.
Service for Billy will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie "Butch" Pennington and Bro. Frank Foster officiating. Burial will follow at the Flatwoods Cemetery at Waco.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Burns, Burley Burns, Stacy Burns, Mark Burns, Mike Friend and Joey Turner.
