Billy Anderson Riddell, 86, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.
Born September 16, 1931, at Jigwater, Kentucky in Madison County, to Julian and Lucy Mason Riddell, both of whom preceded him in death. Mr. Riddell was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary Kathrine Whittamore Riddell. He was a machinist and retired employee of Westinghouse/Phillips Lighting, as well as a farmer. He had served in the US Army and had been a member of Stoney Run Baptist Church since 1965.
Survivors include his son, Billy A. Riddell, II (Peggy) of Richmond; three daughters, Patricia Richardson (Albert) of Berea, Brenda Duff (William) of London, and Sue Ann Smith (James) of Richmond; one sister, Addie Mae Day; grandchildren, David Richardson, Albert Richardson III, Kevin Riddell, Andrea Northern, Billie Carol Swanner, Rodney Wheeler and Jessica Riddell; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Brooke, Dawson, Brandon, Aleigh Richardson, Peyton Swanner, Hayden Riddell, Emerson Swanner, Jayden Reece, and Colton Northern.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mary, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Riddell; one sister, Sudie Halsey; and one granddaughter, Addison Mae Swanner.
Funeral service for Mr. Riddell will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 9, 2017 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Billy Long and Rob Kapple officiating. Burial will follow at Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 9 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Harold Mason, Feth Parkie Mason, Gary Mason, Chris Mason, Mike Hickom, and Charles Long. Honorary bearers will be Bill Watts, Linville Hall, William Cain, Curtis Tate and Darrell Tate.
