Bobby Gene Parke, 81, passed away Monday evening, January 29, 2018 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.
He was born on April 2, 1936 in Madison County, the son of the late John Harris and Mary Eades Parke Sr. He was a retired building contractor and had served in The Kentucky National Guard. He was a member of The Lexington Road Church of God where he served on the Pastors Council. Bobby loved Kentucky Basketball and he loved to travel.
He is survived by his wife: Sondra Payne Parke; one son: Randy Parke; three daughters: Debbie Jarvis, Michelle Florian (Tom) and RaNae Hatfield (Brian); two step-sons: Mark Reffett (Hope) and Scott Reffett (Trina); one brother: Billy W. Parke; one sister: Jonelle Whitaker; seven grandchildren: Jared Parke (Jennifer), Dylan Jarvis, Brandon Hatfield, Tyler Conrad, Christian Jarvis, Taylor Jarvis and Stephen Conrad; two great-grandchildren: and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Shirley Short Parke and two brothers: John H. Parke Jr. and Dewey Eades Parke.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, February 2, 2018 at The Lexington Road Church of God, 2336 Lexington Road, with Rev. Phillip Payne and Rev. Bill Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Thursday evening at the church.
Pallbearers are: Steve Clark, Harlan Wilson, Christian Jarvis, Donnie Harris, Isaac Stanley Jr., and Matt Stanley.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Darrell Osborne and the members of the Pastors Council, Lexington Road Church of God.
The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
