James Carter Hoskins, 92, the widower of Mary Kathryn Jackson Hoskins, passed away Monday morning, February 26, 2018 at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center.
Carter was born on October 7, 1925 in Bell County, the son of the late James W. and Letta Taylor Hoskins. He was a retired Deputy Sheriff of the Madison County Sheriffs Department and was also retired Chief of Security at the VA Hospital in Lexington. In addition, he was a retired associate of Cars of Kentucky Dealership in Richmond. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Rosemont Church of The Nazarene.
Survivors include his sister: Ruth Hoskins as well as several nieces and nephews including his caregivers, Ron and Patty Jackson.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Lena Rue Hoskins.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Noe officiating. Burial will follow at Madison Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday prior to the funeral service.
Serving as pallbearers are: D. J. Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Greg Moody, Greg Oliver, Ron Jackson and Mike Rice.
Honorary pallbearers are Gordon Rice and members of the Madison County Sheriffs Department.
