Conley E. Murray, 75, husband of Sue C. White Murray, of Berea, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at his home.
Born on February 10, 1942 in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Dewey Murray and Vera Bowles Murray McDaniels. Mr. Murray was an electronic technician at Lucent Electronics and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Richmond. He was the author of several books of Christian poetry. His favorite saying was If the good Lord is willing. He was able to fulfill his passion for traveling the United States and was also in the Army Reserves.
Other than his wife of 33 years, Sue C. White Murray, he is survived by three daughters, Lisa Murray-Smith (Anthony) of Tampa, FL, Denise Murray (Barry) of Tampa, FL, Cheryl Murray Orr of Rogers, Arkansas and step daughter, Angie Wininger of Berea, KY; one sister, Betty Jean Mays (Ronnie) of McKee, KY; five grandchildren, Justin Smith, Brittani Smith, Christian Smith, Michael Thacker and Allen Wininger; five great grandchildren, Taylor, Alyssa, Jackson Wininger, Savannah and Brayden Thacker. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by one son, G. Dennis Murray; two brothers, Edward Murray and Ron Murray.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017 at his church Faith Baptist Church in Richmond with Rev. John Doss and Rev. Jim Jones officiating the services. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 to 1:00 Saturday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Smith, Chuck Hensley, Jessie Mays, Michael Thacker, Allen Wininger and Bill Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Smith, Christian Smith, Brittani Smith, Paul Jones, Bill Griffith, Ron Oha and Marty Jones.
Flowers are welcome or donations are suggested to the Faith Baptist Academy.
