Dale's Story

Dale Richard Patrick, 85, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018.
Dale was born in Terre Haute, Indiana the son of Pat and Elsie Wolfe Patrick. He graduated from Wiley High School and Indiana State University, where he was on the Track and Cross Country Teams. He was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity and received his Graduate Degrees from ISU & IU. During college, he was drafted to serve his country during the Korean Conflict.
In 1956, he came to Eastern Ky. University where he developed the Electronics Department and taught there for 52 years, teaching during the tenure of seven university presidents. He wrote and co-authored over 124 books. His biggest thrill was writing a book with his beloved son along his side.
Dale was a member of First Presbyterian Church for 62 years where taught Sunday School and served as an Elder and Deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Betty, twin nephews, Jim & Bob and his beloved son, Steve.
Survivors include his loving wife, Katherine Kay Patrick; sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Bill Ellis; daughter-in-law, Grace Bogard Patrick; granddaughter, Courtney Guillen (Jason); grandson, Rylan Guillen.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:30 PM Sunday, February 4, 2018, at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Curtis Christian officiating. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 1:30 PM Sunday at the church.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Care Plus and Terrace Health and Rehabilitation for their excellent care during Dales illness.
