Darlene's Story

Darlene Price Chrisman, 71, the wife of Freddy Chrisman, passed away Friday, January 20, 2017, at the St. Joseph-East Hospital in Lexington. Darlene was born on July 29, 1945, in Rockcastle County, the daughter of the late Leonard and Hazel Evans Price. She was a retired employee of Eastern Kentucky University and was a member of The Knob Lick Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Freddy Ray Chrisman; one son, Timothy Chrisman (Robin); two daughters, Tammy Conner (Danny) and Patsy Long (Jeff); one brother, Robert Price; one sister, Norma Owens; six grandchildren, Daniel Shelton (Melissa), Tasha Holt (Daniel), Derrick Shelton (Carrie), Tiffany Carpenter (Jonathan), Tara Chrisman and Rachel Long; seven great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Russell Price, and four sisters, Gillette Bell, Mary Doan, Betty Jo Johnson and Imogene Baker.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Livingood and Rev. James Chrisman officiating. Burial will follow in The Chrisman Family Cemetery at Knob Lick.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Daniel Shelton, Derrick Shelton, Daniel Holt, William Baker, Timothy Chrisman and Jeff Long.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Paul Bicknell and Bobby Chrisman.
