David's Story

Mr. David Lloyd King, 82, husband of Frances Grant King passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at his home.
He was born in the Red House Community of Madison County on May 15, 1935 to the late Lee and Nola Fletcher King. He retired from the US Air Force after faithfully serving his country for 20 years. After his retirement, Mr. King worked as the Assistant Chief of Police for the VA Hospital in Lexington for 18 years. He was a member of the Kirksville Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: his four children, David W. King (Vickie), Jessie L. King (Peggy), Dora Burchett, and Ann Eaves (Brent); five grandchildren, Bettina Priddy, Carolyn Bowles, Hannah Eaves, Sarah Eaves and Rebecca Eaves; three step-grandchildren, Bruce, Brian and Brent Whittaker; two great-grandchildren, Allie Priddy and Cadence Johnson; four step-great-grandchildren, Madison, Skylar, Jayce and Harper Whittaker; and a host of other extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard Burchett.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 AM Monday, Mar. 12, 2018 at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Butch Pennington and Bro. Dennis Hisle officiating. Burial will follow at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery with full military honors.
Visitation will be from 4 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Larry Richardson, Jackie Richardson, Donald King, Kenneth Topton, David Tipton, Leland Scarborough and Robbie King. www.cpcfh.com
