Dolly Hainor Steele, 81, of Richmond, the widow of Rev. Charles S. Steele, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.
Born December 25, 1935, in Chapmanville, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Stollie and Myrtle McKinney Hainor. Dolly was a retired Administrative Assistant for the Philosophy and Religion Department at Eastern Kentucky University with 23 years of service and a member of Westside Christian Church. Dolly was a perfect model for a minister's wife and was very active in Polish Christian Ministries. She served as a Sunday school teacher and choir director in all of their churches they served as well as singing and playing the piano.
Survivors include: two sons, Mark Steele (Marla) and Joel Steele, both of Richmond; two grandchildren, Jeremy Steele (Kelli) and Kimberly Hensley (Matthew), both of Richmond; great-grandchildren, Eli Steele, Emily Steele, Lila Hensley and Boone Hensley; one sister, Betty Smith; and a great-niece, Catherine (Shane) Horton. She was preceded in death by one sister, Gaye Bryant.
Funeral service for Dolly will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2017, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Bro. Chip Denief officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Steele, Eli Steele, Matthew Hensley, Hank Ballinger, Joe Tingle, Dale Warren, Mark Chula and Shane Horton. Honorary Pallbearers are the past and present board members of Westside Christian Church.
The family of Dolly Steele also wish to thank Dr. Budeiri and the staff at Hospice Compassionate Care Center for their wonderful care.
