Dorothea's Story

Dorothea Louise Tingle, 88, widow of Marion Keith Tingle, passed away January 2, 2018 in Lexington. Born on December 20, 1929 in Madison County, KY to Herman and Edith Kantzer Stocker. Dorothea was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church, and also a member of Big Springs Chapter D.A.R. She enjoyed gardening and ceramics. Dorothea wanted to be a stay at home mother with her children, so she came up with the idea of the Carriage House Gifts and Flowers in 1971 with
her husband Marion. They devoted their life to their shop.
Dorothea also devoted her life to her children and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Keith Tingle and Karen Tingle Sames (Kevin), both of Georgetown, KY, grandsons, Marshall Tingle (Kristen) of Nicholasville, and Alexander Tingle of Owenton, great grandchild, Hunter Tingle, brothers, Herman Stocker, Jr. and Lloyd Stocker (Norma). She is preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Jean Stocker. Special thanks to our Mother's caregivers, Sharon Dailey, Barbara Hughes, Nancy Broughton, and Dora Lee Munson. She is also survived by her special friends, Vickie Gardner and Ellen Kessler.

Visitation will be 2:00-5:00pm, Sunday, at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home. Services will be 11:30am, Monday, at the funeral home with Rev. Ken Holden and Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery. Pallbearers are Paul Stocker, Ralph Stocker, Alex Tingle Marshall Tingle, Dale West, and Mark Walls.
