Dorothy Wilmot Mountjoy Lovell, 98, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016, in Berea. Dorothy was born in Frankfort, to the late Golda Anderson Mountjoy and Esther Montraville Wilmot Mountjoy. She was the widow of Joseph Calvin Lovell and worked with Joseph Calvin as bookkeeper at the Best-Lovell Hardware Store in Richmond, as well as being a mother to her children and working as a telephone operator at the Darnell Hospital during World War II.
Dorothy is survived by: her children, Mountjoy Joseph "Monty Joe" Lovell (Belinda), John Calvin Lovell (Donna), Susan Elaine Lovell-Brigati (Edward) and Dorothy Ann Lovell; her brother, Jessie Bartlett Mountjoy (Marcella) and sister-in-law, Doris Gothard Mountjoy (the late Lawrence); five grandchildren, Joseph Shawn Lovell (Jaime), Dawn Lovell Lewis, Meghan Lovell, Joseph Donald Lovell and Emma Lucille Lovell; and three great-grandchildren, Kennedy Lee Lewis, Savannah Dawn Lewis and Joseph Cameron Lovell. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Robert Mountjoy (the late Doris Rose) and Lawrence Bailey Mountjoy.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church in Richmond, where she was a member for more than fifty years. Rev. Mary Lou Stephens will be officiating.
