Dorothy's Story

Dorothy Lee Tate Wall, 89, the widow of Harold Wall, passed away Monday morning, April 10, 2017, at Richmond Health & Rehab-Kenwood.
Mrs. Wall was born on October 29, 1927, in Chillicothe, Ohio, the daughter of the late Gordon M. and Audrey Malotte Tate. She was a member of the Red House Methodist Church and was a retired employee of Westinghouse and North American Phillips.         
She is survived by: two children, James H. Wall (Regina) and Sandra F. Ray (Morris); three sisters, Wilma Thomas (Russell), Maxine Patton and Gladys Spillman; four brothers, Harold D. Tate, Raymond Tate (Brenda), Donald Tate (Delores) and Maxey Tate; a sister-in-law, Mary Weitkamp (Ken); four grandchildren, Brian Wall (Renea), Timothy Ray (Joanna), Anthony Ray and Michael Ray; nine great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband of 64 years, Harold C. Wall; a grandson, Scotty Allen Ray; two brothers, Richard Tate and Gordon Caswell Tate; and two sisters, Janet Smith and Joyce Halcomb.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017, at The Union City Baptist Church with Bro. Donnie Tate, Bro. Richard Tate and Bro. David King officiating. Burial will follow in the Doylesville Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday morning at the church.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Brian Wall, Tyler Wall, Timothy Ray, Bradley Ray, Michael Ray and David Ray.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care Plus or The Union City Baptist Church.
The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
