Edna Moore Roberts, 99, of Foxwood Drive, formerly of Tates Creek Road, widow of Bert G. Roberts, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Kenwood Health & Rehab of Richmond.
Mrs. Roberts, who passed just seven weeks before her 100th birthday, was born April 7, 1918, in Richmond, Kentucky, to the late Carlos and Nancy (Teater) Moore. She had worked for the Garland Jett Store retired from the former K-Mart Department Store, before retiring from the Madison County School System, as a bus monitor. Mrs. Roberts, who was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, was a member of Corinth Christian Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Annette Moore (Ralph) of Berea; five sons, Allen Roberts (Renda), Gayle Roberts, both of Richmond, Michael Roberts of Paint Lick, Barry Roberts of Berea, and Doug Roberts of Waco; one brother , Allen Poe Moore (Norma) of Lexington; and 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Nelson Moore, Jim Moore, Russell Buck Moore, Bill Moore, and Carlos Moore Jr.; and three sisters, Louise Long, Marietta Taylor, and Juanita Moore.
Funeral service for Mrs. Roberts will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. David Evans and Bro. Scott Guiley officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 AM until service time at Oldham, Roberts & Powell.
Pallbearers will be Clarence Roberts, A.J. Roberts, Kendall Moore, Chris Roberts, Joshua Walker, Alex Morton, Paul Allen Moore, and Don Long. Honorary pallbearers will be Lloyd Tussey, Donald Wayne Short, and Gary Long.
