Franklin W. Coleman


Mr. Franklin W. Coleman, 85, of Richmond, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2019 at the Baptist Health - Lexington.
He was born in Madison County on February 13, 1934 to the late Virgil Lee and Susan Christine Comley Coleman. Mr. Coleman served his country during the Korean War with the US Army, and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the VFW as well as part of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Frank was an avid golfer and had his first hole-in-one at the Madison Country Club at the age of 83.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty J. Dickerson Coleman; three daughters, Lisa S. Coleman, Billilyn C. Mills, and Karalee Carter (James); six grandchildren, Yon Mullins, Zakary Coleman, Paige Mills, Trenton C. Mills, Tyler Brassfield, and Kelsey L. Brassfield; 7 great-grandchildren and a host of other extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:30 PM Thursday, September 5, 2019, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, with Rev. Hank Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
Visitation will be after 11AM Thursday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: James Carter, Paige Mills, Zakary Coleman, Tyler Brassfield, Trenton Mills, and Kelsey Brassfield.
Serving as an Honorary Pallbearer will be: Yon Mullins.
