Fred Victor Sweet

Fred Victor Sweet Fred Victor Sweet, 94, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.

Born on February 16, 1924, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, he was the son of Fred and Elizabeth Lucille Pryor Sweet, both of whom preceded him in death. He was reared in New Mexico and graduated in 1949, from New Mexico State University, with a BS in electrical engineering.

Fred retired in 1979, as a flight safety manager for White Sands Missile Range, in New Mexico, and was a U S Navy veteran of World War II. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Richmond. Fred was an avid tennis player and even taught tennis after retirement. He enjoyed his activities at the YMCA, and as a Project Read tutor. He had also served as a Boy Scout Leader.

Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Emily Cox Sweet of Richmond; three daughters, Rose Marie Hallock Sweet and Rebecca Amati, of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Teresa Isaacs of El Paso, Texas; one son, Kevin Isaacs (and Debbie) of Danbury, Connecticut; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Ralph Sweet and Kenneth Sweet, and his sister, Mona Taylor Wilcox of Colorado.

There are no services are planned at this time. Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home is in charge.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church, P O Box 27, Richmond, KY 40476; Telford YMCA, 1100 East Main Street, Richmond, KY 40475; or the Hospice Compassionate Care Center, 350 Isaacs Lane, Richmond, KY 40475.
