Gail "Gay" Marie Cotter, 68, ascended into Heaven on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.
She was a successful business woman but found her greatest joys in spending time and caring for her family. For decades, Gay showed deep compassion for others by providing hand-knitted clothes, blankets and winterware, as well as food and necessities, to hundreds of people in need. She was especially drawn to caring for infants and children; most of her charitable works were donated anonymously.
Gay was preceded in death by her father, Michael Calderaro, Sr.
Eager to reunite with Gay are her husband, Robert "Bob", of 46 years; two daughters, Heather-Anne Simpson and Erin (Jim) Frost; two handsome grandsons, Andrew (Maggie) Simpson and River Patrick Frost. Gay is also survived by a brother, Michael Calderaro, and mother, Jean, as well as numerous out of state relatives.
Visitation for Gay will be Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. 12:00 Noon at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 115 Parrish Ave, Richmond. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12 Noon with Fr. Tom Farrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Berea Cemetery.
