Garnett Bolton, 84, of Poosey Ridge, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017, at his home.
He was born in Garrard County, Ky., on Dec. 18, 1932, the son of Clyde and Evelyn King Bolton. Garnett had been a tobacco and cattle farmer all his life. He enjoyed fishing, especially gigging, and was a member of the Gilead Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Fredia Sparks Bolton; one son, Marvin Bolton (Kelly), of Lancaster; two brothers, Mason Bolton, of Taylorsville and Jimmie Bolton, of Waco; two grandchildren, Krista Caudill (Ricky) and Canaan Bolton, of Lancaster; five great-grandchildren, Ethan Blanton, Gabriel Blanton, Trenton Caudill, Dayton Caudill and Israel Caudill; 3 Nephews and 1 Niece.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the Gilead Baptist Church, Poosey Ridge, with Bro. Mark Gabbard officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilead Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 12 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Bolton, Scotty Sparks, Billy Sparks, Lester Sparks, Tony Sparks and Gordon Cotton.
Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
