Gene "Toots" Buck, 82 of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2016. She was born on Aug. 11, 1934, in Arkadelphia, Ark., to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stueart. They preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Henry (Bud) Stueart Jr., and her sister, Mary Daniel of Hot Springs.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Mel Buck of Hot Springs; two sons, Brett Buck of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Andrew Buck of Lexington; and a sister, Gloria Daniel of Minden, La.
She will be remembered for her grace, her smile, her contagious laughter and most of all her generosity. She served in the Benton Library and later on as head librarian for the Richmond, Ky., city and county library. She volunteered both at the Kentucky branch of The Salvation Army and the Hot Springs chapter for many years. She delivered meals on wheels in Kentucky. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church.
She was a traveler and, along with her husband Mel, they visited many parts of the world, including Cancun, Cozumel, Germany, Belgium, Holland, France, Jaurez, Canada, New England, England, Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania. Left alone for a few minutes in any of those places, she would have made a friend. Her presence will be missed by many.
Her arrangements will be handled by the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia and she will be buried at a later date, sometime in the spring. Date and time to be announced. Sign online guestbook www.ruggleswilcox.com.
