Harvey's Story

Harvey Gene Holland, of Berea, passed away after a long illness, on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at U.K. Hospital in Lexington.
Harvey was born June 19, 1944, in Richmond to the late Harvey W. Holland and Carrie L. Holland Henry. He was a retired auto body mechanic and spent several years raising registered German Shepherd Police Dogs, and owning several that he dearly loved and enjoyed. He was a talented musician, loved bluegrass and country music. He played several instruments, including guitar, banjo, mandolin and dulcimer.
He is survived by: his wife, Tammy Holland, of Berea; his mother, Carrie L. Holland Henry; a daughter, Jeanna Holland (Donald) Howell, of Richmond; two sisters, Donna (George) Lillis, of Georgetown, Patsy (Paul) Saylor, of Richmond; two grandchildren, Noah Howell, of Richmond, and Karie Howell, of Louisville; two great grandchildren, Kylie and Bryson Howell, of Richmond; one aunt, Jean Sams, of Michigan. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12 noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.
