Irene Rose Evans, the widow of Albert Evans, passed away Friday morning, April 14, 2017, at Baptist Health in Richmond.
Mrs. Evans was born on September 5, 1927, in Estill County, the daughter of the late David and Cynthia Skinner Rose. She was a homemaker, a retired employee of Gibson Greeting Card in Berea, and was at the time of her death, the oldest living member of The Panola Baptist Church. She loved to quilt, attend church and loved tending to her flowers.
Survivors include: one son, Dwight Evans (Rayma Faye); two daughters, Joan Rose (Russell) and Peggy Cox (Larry);  one brother, Cledus Rose (Shirley); one sister, Jeanette Oglesby; seven grandchildren, Devonna Halcomb (Brett), Scott Evans, Hope Walton (Eddie), Kim Daugherty (Johnny), Diana Rose, Tina Lynch (James) and Amanda Gibson (Jason); 11 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, as well several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Evans, and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Ronk and Rev. Marvin Neal officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery at Panola.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Johnny Daugherty, Clint Daugherty, Scott Evans, James Lynch, Rodney Rose, Justin Fritz and Kenneth Richardson.
