Irene Falkenberg's Story
Thelma Irene Falkenberg, 92, of Richmond, went to be with her Lord on April 30, 2017, at Hospice of Dayton, Ohio. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Milton W Falkenberg. She is survived by: her sister, Ardath Effa, and brother-in-law, Rev Herman Effa of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; daughter, Connie L McMillan of Dayton, Ohio, son-in-law, Grant McMillan; son, Steve Falkenberg of Copper Canyon, Texas, daughter-in-law, Doll Falkenberg; grandchildren, Rebecca Falkenberg of Atlanta, Georgia, David Falkenberg (wife Layne Falkenberg) of Burleson, Texas, Jason McMillan of Columbus, Ohio, Brian McMillan (wife Jeanna McMillan) of Union, Ky.; her great-grandchildren, Matthew Falkenberg, Abby Falkenberg, Benjamin McMillan, Molly McMillan; and step-great-grandchildren, Lexie Iles and Ashley Iles.
She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Richmond, and a faithful Sunday school teacher for many years. She lovingly referred to her Sunday school class as "her girls".
A memorial service will be held at Oldham Roberts and Powell Funeral Home in Richmond on Saturday, May 20, 2017. The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. with services to follow at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Irene's wishes were that donations be made in her name to Happy Hill Church, 7900 East FM 917, Alvarado, Texas 76009 where her grandson, David, is pastor.
