Iva's Story

Iva Mae Jones, 84, of Waco, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at her home.

Born September 8, 1932, in Berea, KY, she was the daughter of Samuel and Goldie Banks Eden, both of whom preceded her in death.  She was a former employee of Westinghouse and Newberry's Department Store, but her main interest was that of being a homemaker, who enjoyed flowers and gardening. Her greatest enjoyment was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Mrs. Jones was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, John Victor Jones and one daughter, Vickie Moody (John William) all of Waco; one brother, Ronnie Daughtery; three sisters, Thelma Dodson, Elsie Simpson (Charles) and Sue McNicholas (Ervin); grandchildren, John Mark Moody (Jessica) and Bridget Rose (Gene); great grandchildren, Abby Rose, Lillee Moody, Kacey Rose, Meghan Moody, Emily Moody and Sean Moody; one special sister-in-law, JoAnn Eden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, June Oldson and four brothers, Jack, James, Howard and Ralph Eden.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with her nephew, Donald Gene Jones, officiating.  Burial will follow at Madison County Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be from 10 AM until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Mark Moody, Gene Rose, Tim Jones, Frank Jones, Glen Jones, and Greg Jones.
