James Edward Larson, 88, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at the Bluegrass Hospice Center in Lexington, KY. He was the husband of Patricia Skupniewitz Larson.
Born November 23, 1929, in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, he was the son of Louis T. and Margaret L. Czarnetsky Larson, both of whom preceded him in death. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Mr. Larson was an office space manager for the State of Wisconsin and a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. James had a very soft heart and was always willing to help people and animals in need. He was an avid reader of history, particularly military history and was a veteran in the United States Army serving during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Patricia, and a daughter, Karen Larson (Lexington, KY). He is also survived by a brother, Thomas Larson (FL), several nieces and nephews and his canine boxer, Harley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Larson.
Service for James Larson will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 8, 2018 at St. Mark Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Farrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30 6:30 PM Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Oldham Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.
