James Maupin, lovingly known as Mop, was born on December 11, 1943 to the late John Maupin and Betty Walker Maupin. He entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 17, 2017 after a short illness.
Jimmy was born in Richmond, Kentucky and joined First Baptist Church, Richmond at an early age. He attended Richmond High and Madison High Schools. Jimmy was a great softball pitcher, and was known for his sense of humor and sweet and fun-loving personality. Jimmy never met a stranger and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Jimmy is survived by his brother, John (Rosetta) Maupin; his sister, Beverly Henderson; nieces, Kimberly (Joe) Baird and Andrea (Ken) Raglin; nephews, Phillip (Monday) Graves, Terry Graves, Jonathan (Felicia) Maupin, and Joseph Daniel Henderson; and a host of loving cousins, great nieces and nephews, and wonderful friends . Services will be held 1:pm Sat 1st Baptist Church,Richmond. Visitation 11:00am until time of service arrangements by Hawkins-Taylor Funeral Home
