James's Story

James Albert Pack, 70, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Telford Terrace of Richmond.

Born October 27, 1946, he was the son of Hallie Homer and Adena Pauley Pack, both of whom preceded him in death. Jim was a retired store manager for Hager Cabinets. Jim Packs faith came first in his life and he loved sharing Gods word. Currently a member of First Baptist Church, he was a former Deacon and Sunday school teacher at Rosedale Baptist Church where he held numerous other church committee positions. His church family was always important to him and he loved to visit with his fellow church parishioners. Jim was also a member of Waco Lodge # 538, F. & A.M.

Jim attended Marshall University and was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He hiked the Appalachian Trail, where he used the nickname, Little Doggy, he rode motorcycles, played tennis and golfed and played every miniature golf course he could find with his son Josh.

He is survived by Linda Pack of Richmond; one son, Josh Pack of Richmond; two daughters, Robin Pack McDaniel of Richmond and Adena Jeanne Gibson-Ferguson of Denver, Colorado; one brother, Dexter Mayhew; four sisters, Marty Pack Prewitt, Linda Stagner, Debbie Fuller and Joyce Chaney; and three grandchildren, Elleigh, Harley, and Garrett.

Funeral service for Jim will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at First Baptist Church, with Bro. Bill Fort and Bro. Malcolm Lunsford officiating. Burial will follow at the Richmond Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 5 8 PM Monday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Paul Purcell, Steve Waddle, Bill Tillett, Jim Meade, Russell Barclay, Charlie McWhorter, Arthur Chaney, Vernon Crisp and Vernon Stubblefield.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Telford Terrace.
