Jimmy Wayne Benton, 78, passed away on April 3, 2017 at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Fla., after a short illness.
Jimmy was born on July 30, 1938, in Madison County, and was the son of Edgar and Virginia Taylor Benton, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a 1958 graduate of Madison Central High School. Jimmy worked at Square D Company in Lexington, and retired from Square D Company in Oxford, Ohio, after 36 years as a production manager. He also served in the National Guard. After retirement, he moved to Florida where he was a member of Viera East Golf Club and was an active volunteer at Wuesthoff Medical Center.
Survivors include: his wife, Gail S. Benton, of Viera, Fla.; one son, Jeffrey Wayne Benton, of Richmond; one daughter, Wendy Reiboldt (Max Costanza), of Long Beach, Calif.; one brother, Charles E. Benton (Donna), of Richmond; one sister, Barbara Hendren (Bill), of Richmond; sister-in-law, Madgie Benton; two grandchildren, Reno and Ambra, of Long Beach, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by one brother, Nolan Ray Benton, and one sister, Shirley Ann Benton.
Funeral service for Jimmy Wayne Benton will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday.
Pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be his Viera East Golf Buddies.
