Jo Ann's Story
Jo Ann Whittemore (nee, Leming), 78, of Berea died Friday, March 2, 2018, at The Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. Born November 13, 1939, in Madison County to the late Joseph Elmer and Evelyn Adams Leming, Jo Ann retired from Churchill Weavers where she served in shipping, the gift shop, customer service, traveled to work the trade shows and did outside finishing by hand at home for many years. These talents extended to her house where she loved to decorate the home she dearly loved. She enjoyed her weekly coffee outings with friends and loved her time singing with her friends at Liberty Avenue Baptist Church.
Jo Ann is survived by: a daughter, Tamra Willis (Tony), sister, Carol Seals (Earl) and aunt Effie Linville; three grandchildren, Aubrey Willis, Megan Whittemore and Madison Whittemore; nephews, Joey Seals and Shane Seals (Rochelle); her church family; and her very close feline family, Beans, Patch and Little Bit who were also very important in her life.
In addition to her parents, Jo Ann is predeceased by her husband Donald E. Whittemore, Sr. and son Donald Whittemore, Jr.
Visitation is Monday, March 5, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Reppert Funeral Home. Funeral service Monday, March 5, 2018, at 1 p.m also at the funeral home with Pastor Ken Felty officiating. Burial at Madison County Memorial Gardens.
