Joe's Story

Joe Samuel Hall, 91, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the Terrace Nursing Home in Berea, Ky. He was the widower of Anna Hicks Hall.
He was born on May 28, 1926 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, the son of Alex and Josephine Bingham Hall.
Survivors include one son, Joey R. Hall (Jill), of Independence, KY and a daughter, Margie H. Tussey (Ronnie), of Kirksville, KY; five grandchildren, Angela Stephan (Clifford), of Louisville, Scott Tussey (Beth), of Richmond, Brian Hall and Kevin Hall, of Independence, and Erin Hall, of Dayton, Ohio; also, three great-grandchildren, Anna Grace and Marie Jane Stephan and Owen Samuel Tussey.
The family would like to offer a special thank-you to Judy Warren, his faithful caregiver for the last two years.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents and by six brothers, Carlos, Norman, Russell, Alex, Jr., Delmas and Manderville Hall and two sisters, Jeanette Hall and Freda Wallen.
Joe was a retired salesman having worked many years for Graves-Cox in Lexington, Ky. In his early retirement years he enjoyed working part time at Jim Barnes Clothing Store. He was a Master Mason and a member of the Oleika Shrine Temple. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and served in the U. S. Navy Amphibious Corps in the Pacific Theater aboard the USS Hanover.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Johnathon Tussey officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 AM 1 PM Saturday at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Scott Tussey, Brian Hall, Kevin Hall, Clifford Stephan, son-in-law, Ronnie Tussey, and Jim Barnes. www.cpcfh.com
