Joe Douglas King, 60, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.
He was born July 27, 1956, in Richmond to Frank Milton and Lorene Evans King, both of whom preceded him in death. Joe was a retired Pre-Trial Officer for the Administrative Office of the Courts, for the State of Kentucky, and was a member of Kings Tabernacle Church. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and riding his Rhino ATV, but most of all, he loved and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include: his wife, Teresa Culton King of Richmond; two sons, Joseph Skylar King of Richmond and Robert Lee King of Louisville; his step-mother, Katherine King of Richmond; five sisters, Debbie Combs (Gary), Linda Wynn, Susan Cole, Kathy Harrison, and Penny Isaacs (Jason); seven brothers, Ronnie King, Charlie King (Laura), Nathan "Pete" King, Jeff King, Greg King (LaDonna), Frankie King (Amy) and Steve King (Jennifer); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were five brothers, Jerry, Danny, Everett, William, and Darrell King, and one sister, Loretta Agee.
Funeral service for Joe will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Owen Moody and Bro. Greg King officiating. Burial will follow at the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell.
Pallbearers will be members of The Madison County Sheriff's Department. Honorary pallbearers will be Noland "Peanut" Winkler, Doug Thomas, Randy Prewitt, Tyler Grubb, Tommy Gadd, Ron Devere, Gary Combs, Jamie Wynn and Rick Johnson.
