John Davis Jackson, 92, of Lancaster Road, Richmond, passed away Sunday, August 27, 1017 at The Terrace Nursing & Rehabilitation in Berea.
John was born on May 27, 1925 in Madison Co., Ky., the son of the late Robert Bob and Esther Hammons Jackson. He grew up in the Waco area and was a graduate of Waco High School. On Nov. 21, 1945, he united in marriage to Agnes Murphy who preceded him in death in 1992. John was a farmer who took pride in working the family farm. He also worked as a water plant operator for the Richmond Utilities until his retirement. He was a member of the Kirksville Baptist Church and Madison (Kirksville) Lodge No. 183 F & A.M. John lived his life to the fullest and cherished his family and his many friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Carol Yeager (Dorian) and Betty Davis Collins (Johny); brother, Douglas Jackson (Bonnie); sister, Carol Perry; Grandchildren, Kate Marie Little (Wes), Mary Carol Anderson (Jon) and John Phillip Yeager (Frances); 4 Great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:30 PM Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Butch Pennington and Bro. John McCord officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dorian Yeager, John Phillip Yeager, Chan Combs, Dean Jones, Jon Anderson and Wes Little.
