I am saddened to hear the news about Mr. Park's passing. He was a special person to me and many others around Madison County. Even though I have been away from Richmond and EKU for nearly 30 years, Mr. Park was always in my thoughts, particularly during recent years. I always felt he was like my second father since Karl was my best friend growing up and I spent so much time at the Park home and traveling with them to Reds games and softball games during the summer. He and Mrs. Park treated me like one of their own. I especially remember the special times Karl and I had when his dad would load us in the back of his pickup truck and take us out to the farm to do some work. It was real wor...k in the tobacco fields and hay fields, or in the barn housing tobacco or putting up hay, but it was fun times that I would never have had the opportunity to experience otherwise. May he rest in peace and one day we will have the opportunity to join him in heaven.Read more
