Kathleen Ponder Howell, 85, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at the Terrace Nursing & Rehabilitation of Berea. She was the widow of Walker Jackson Howell, Jr.
Born October 8, 1932, in Clay County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Thomas and Lillie Ferguson Ponder, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, and a loving housewife and mother, and a member of the Lancaster Road Church of God.
Survivors include one son, Joel Mitchell Howell (Deborah) of Richmond; one sister, Tommie Whittaker of Richmond; one sister-in-law, Daphne Ponder; grandchildren, Robert Tate, Kim Stiffler, Justin Morgan Howell; nephew, Rickie Allen Edwards, Donovan Ponder, Dana Ponder and two nieces, Diane Miller and Debra Angle; and her great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Sue Tate and a brother, Herbert Ponder.
Service for Kathleen Howell will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Butch Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 9 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Edwards, Kyle Buttersworth, Bill Tate, Donovan Ponder, Dana Ponder and Rickie Edwards.
