Kenneth's Story

Mr. Kenneth Wayne Becknell, 82, of Richmond, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Baptist Health Richmond.
Mr. Becknell, the son of the late John Ellis Becknell and Connie Maupin Becknell, was born in Madison County on January 17, 1935. He retired from Teamsters as a truck driver and worked his last eight working years for ABF Trucking Company. He was a member of the Waco Masonic Lodge # 338 F. & A.M and was a U. S. Air Force Veteran. He was also a faithful member of the Waco Baptist Church.
On May 22, 1954, Mr. Becknell united in marriage to Betty Jean McCreary Becknell who survives. They had celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Other survivors include one son: Kenneth Wayne Becknell II and wife Terri of Cincinnati, OH; six grandchildren: Rick Beers and wife Cassie, Gage Becknell, Zack Beers, Josh Pickering, Kenny Pickering and Jacob Pickering and his great granddaughter: Audrey Pickering.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Becknell was also preceded in death by his daughter: Tamala Dawn Pickering in 2016 and his brother: John A. Becknell.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Monday, January 15, 2018 at Waco Baptist Church, 3646 Irvine Rd, Waco with Pastor Michael Erickson officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 10:00 A.M. Monday at the church.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, as well as, Lane Masters, Doug McCreary and Jeff McCreary.
Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
