Kenneth's Story

Kenneth David Schwendeman, 59, of Richmond, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at St. Joseph East in Lexington.
Kenneth was born June 10, 1958, at Pensacola, Florida, to Dr. Joseph R. and Mrs. Grace Wilson Schwendeman, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a former Director of the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council, a former Director of the Department of Criminal Justice Training at EKU, a Legislative Liaison, and a retired U.S. Army Major. Kenneth was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, a founding member of the Kentucky Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation, a member of the Madison County Airport Board, and the Exchange Club.
Survivors include: his wife Louise Anderson Schwendeman of Richmond; two sons, James Schwendeman (Melissa) of Cullman, Ala., and Douglas Clayton Schwendeman; two brothers, Joseph Raymond Schwendeman (Kay) and Michael Stuart Schwendeman (Cindy); one granddaughter, Annalise Schwendeman; one Aunt, Beth O'Donnell and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2017, at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church in Richmond. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.
