Mr. L. D. Hill, 85, of Richmond, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the VA Hospital in Lexington.
He was born on May 26, 1932 in Madison County to the late Lionel and Bannie Whittamore Hill. Mr. Hill was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was a retired self-employed cattle and tobacco farmer. Mr. Hill served his country in the US Army where he served in the front lines of the Korean War. He had a love for Quarter Horses and rode extensively when he was younger. Mr. Hill was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending winters in Florida catching thousands of fish a year. He was a member of the Honorable order of Kentucky Colonels, and the Livestone Pentecostal Church - he loved his church family.
Survivors include: his wife of almost 64 years, Paulene Hill; two sons, Donald Hill (Charlotte), and Christopher Hill (Tammy); one daughter, Sharon Isaacs (Mike); two brothers, Frank Hill (Sylvia) and Tom Hill (Gloria); two sisters, Wanda Farthing (Danny), and Mary Coates (Bobby); his grandchildren, Brian Hill (Erica), Megan Hill, Bannon Hill, Jason Brockman (Leah), Keith Brockman ( Heather), Mikie Isaacs (Elizabeth); 9 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his dog, Amy.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:30 PM Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at the Livestone Pentecostal Church, 1783 Lancaster Road, with Bro. Owen Moody and Pastor Mike Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Tuesday, at the church.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons.

The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, is in charge of the arrangements.
