Linda's Story

Linda Sue Gilliam Sams, 69, of Lexington, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Baptist Health Lexington.
Linda, the daughter of the late Clyde Gilliam and Beulah King Gilliam, was born in Fayette County on June 18, 1948. She retired from the Kentucky Department of Revenue. She enjoyed crafts and pottery but loved children most of all. Linda was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Lexington.
On August 8, 1968, Linda united in marriage to Allen Sams who survives.
Other survivors include: her son: Mark and Renee Sams; two daughters: Deborah and Harold Peffer all of Jacksonville, FL and Cindy and Bruce McHone of Lexington; her brother: Leonard Gilliam; two sisters: Barbara Cornelius and Clyde Leslie Blanton and six grandchildren: Joseph Wainscott, Mathau Peffer, Carson Sams, Carri Sams, Myshell Puma and Tyler McHone.
Linda was also preceded in death by two brothers: Delbert Gilliam and David Gilliam.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Earl Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Flatwoods Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Mark Sams, Bernie and Karen Sams, Rocky King, Chris Byrd and Jesse Byrd. www.cpcfh.com
