Lonnie's Story

Mr. Lonnie Land, 84, of Richmond, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017, at Madison Health and Rehabilitation.
Mr. Land, the son of the late Elmer Land and Gracie Madden Land, was born in Lee County on November 18, 1932. He retired from Pennebaker Company and went on to work for and retire from Hillcrest Nursery. Mr. Land was an avid gardener, outdoorsman and enjoyed his travels in eastern Kentucky.
 Survivors include: two daughters, Rita Land and Kathy Mulchey and husband Rick; four grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Rutherford and Mayfrey Agee; his sister-in-law, Jane Land; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; his caregivers, Mike Land and daughter, Amber Snell, and many friends.
Mr. Land was also preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas, Ellis, Bill and Dale Land. 
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2017, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Chaplain Denise McKinney and Mr. James Ballinger officiating. Burial will be in the New Zion Cemetery in Jackson County, Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be James Thomas Rutherford, James Ballinger, James Clay Ballinger, John Prewitt and Bodie Shell. www.cpcfh.com
