Lucile C. Douglas, 95, of Richmond, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 at Baptist Health Richmond.
Born September 6, 1922, in Richmond, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Bruce Cox, Sr., and Minnie Whitt Cox, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a retired employee of the physical therapy department of Pattie A. Clay Hospital, and the former Pope Hospital of Richmond and of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed fishing and crocheting but most of all she lived for her family and church.
She is survived by one son, Isaac Ike Douglas, Jr. (Regina Rollins Douglas); two daughters, Conie Parker (Steve) and Deborah Johnson (Noah), all of Richmond; one brother, Bruce Cox, Jr. (Anita) and a son-in-law, James Morgan.
She also leaves six grandchildren, Jeff Tussey (Eileen) of Gaylord, Michigan, Rusty Smith (Angie) of Wilmington, Delaware, Scott Douglas of Berea, Jonathan Smith (Nikki) of Lexington, granddaughter, Jennifer Tussey Hisle of Richmond, and Curtis Johnson (Kristeena) of Richmond; as well as, eight great-grandchildren, Reese Tussey, Chandler Dudek, Stone Tussey, Sierra Hisle, Jake Rowland, Regan Douglas, Gabriel Smith, and Colton Smith.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Imogene Morgan, one brother, Lemuel Cox and one sister, Virginia Norris.
Funeral service for Mrs. Douglas will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Dr. Virgil Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Flatwoods Cemetery in Waco. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until service on time on Thursday at Oldham Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Jeff Tussey, Scott Douglas, Jon Smith, Rusty Smith, Jennifer Hisle and Curtis Johnson. Honorary Pallbearer will be Joe Norris.
