Mrs. Lydia Frazier Whittamore, 92, of Waco, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Compassionate Care Center.
Mrs. Whittamore, the daughter of the late Henry Frazier and Maude Tuggle Frazier, was born in Estill County on May 14, 1926. She enjoyed hiking, being outdoors and was known as a hard worker all of her life. She especially treasured each one of her grandchildren. For over 55 years, she served as a children's Sunday School Teacher at the Waco Baptist Church where she was a member. She was also the church custodian for 40 years.
On November 20, 1945, Mrs. Whittamore was married to Willie Whittamore who preceded her in death on December 24, 1998.
Survivors include: two sons: James "Jimmy" & Deanna Whittamore of Estero, FL and Willie H. "Billy" & Jean Whittamore of Richmond; two daughters: Cheryl Whittamore (& Bill Kirby) of Richmond and Karen & Charlie Friend of Berea; her special nephew: Wally & Phyllis Frazier of Tampa, FL; nine grandchildren: Byron & Dena Whittamore, Scott & Amanda Whittamore, Emily & Eric Risner, Mark & Lauren Whittamore, Rebecca Whittamore, Sheri & Corey Powell, Adam & Angela Friend, Jason & Ashley Friend and Jodi & Mark Fleeman; her granddaughter-in-law: Jennifer Whittamore and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Whittamore was also preceded in death by all of her brothers and sisters: Tracy Frazier, James Frazier, Beverly Frazier, Katherine Frazier, Anna Frazier, Bernice Sparks and Etta Hager.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Waco Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Erickson and Rev. Allen Livingood officiating. Burial will follow in the Alexander-Tuggle Cemetery in Estill County.
Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Whittamore's grandsons: Byron Whittamore, Mark Whittamore, Adam Friend, Jason Friend and Corey Powell and great grandsons: Tyler Abshear and Jordan Abshear.

Mr. and Mrs. Whittamore were two of the kindous people I've ever met. Growing up across the street from them was a life learning lesson. I think of Willie and Lydia all the time. Never will there be better neighbors!!!

Mrs Whitmore has always meant so much to our family...She was so kind and considerate...always with a smile on her face...we know she will be missed but we know where she is ...with Willie in heaven.
