Mabel Whitaker

Mabel Frances Agee Whitaker, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, February 9, 2018, at The Compassionate Care Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 29, 1926 in Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Price and Lucy Ball Agee. Mabel was a homemaker, and a loving mother, grandmother Mimi and great-grandmother. She was a faithful member of the Big Hill Christian Church and was also a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. She enjoyed cooking, watching television ministries and caring for her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Franklin T. Whitaker; and by her brothers: Walter Q. Agee, Robert Agee, Melvin Mouse Agee, Jake Agee, Earl Agee and Sam Agee.
Survivors include: two daughters: Sandra Murphy (Ronnie) and Bonnie Roop (Benny); two grandchildren: Angela Murphy Pearson (Mark) and Scott Roop (Kim); three great-grandchildren: Faith Nicole Pearson, Candace Hope Pearson and Tyler Bennett Roop; two special sisters-in-law: Lois Agee and Greta Whitaker; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:30 PM Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Pearson and Bro. Jim Riggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are: Scott Roop, Larry Agee, Sammy Agee, Edwin Agee, Bobby Smith, Shannon Combs and Johny Collins.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Friendship Class of Big Hill Christian Church.
Donations may be made to The Big Hill Christian Church-Building Fund, 1150 Goggins Lane, Richmond or The Compassionate Care Center, 350 Isaacs Lane, Richmond, KY 40475.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation, to all the nurses and staff of the Compassionate Care Center for the love and care shown to Mrs. Whitaker, and to Pastor Bill Fort and staff of The First Baptist Church, for their love and prayers.
