Marlin Duvall Sanders, 78, of Richmond, died Friday, April, 14, 2017, at home in Richmond following a long illness.
He was a Richmond, Kentucky native, born September 7, 1938, son of the late Melvin and Della Christopher Sanders. He was a U.S. Army veteran (1962 - 1968). Marlin was the owner and operator of Sanders Flooring for 54 years. He was the guy that would give the shirt off his back. He loved everyone and spent the last 9 years compassionately helping people stop smoking at Vapor Stix Inc.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Linda (Chun Soon So) Sanders; three children, Lee Sanders, Johnny (Stephanie) Sanders, Jimmy (Kim) Sanders; two sisters, Kathleen (Freddie) Reynolds, Nancy Revel; seven grandchildren, Jordan Sanders, Mia Sanders, Jackson Sanders, Ashley Sanders, Carla Blevins, Eric Blevins and Seth Sanders, as well as numerous nieces nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four siblings, Wallace Sanders, Wayne Sanders, Hubert Sanders, and Chuck Sanders.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Life Church, 1705 Irvine Road, with Bro. Edwin Lainhart officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Madison Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday evening at the church.
Pallbearers will be Roger Reynolds, Jerry Reynolds, James Lovett, Clint Anglin, Josh Winkler, Albert Robinson.
