Martha Mae Hurt, 71, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Berea Health & Rehab. She was the widow of H.D. Hurt Jr.
Martha was born on October 13, 1945, in Richmond, and was the daughter of Austin and Louise Reams Fletcher, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a retired accountant for the Department of Criminal Justice Training and a member of First Baptist Church. Martha loved her grandchildren, enjoyed traveling and caring for animals.
Survivors include: one son, Austin Tyler Hurt (Vanessa) of Richmond; one brother, Donald Fletcher (Sophia); one sister, Patricia Ann West (Doug); two grandchildren, Trysten Hurt and Max Hurt; and a friend and traveling buddy, Carolyn Schaefer.
Funeral service for Martha Hurt will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017, with Rev. Bill Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wendall Bohannon, Tommy Fletcher, Kevin Fletcher, Phillip Ashcraft, David Bohannon, John McCord and Gary Parks.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell.
