Mary Ruth Johnson, 54, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017. at her home. She was the wife of Willie D. Johnson.
Mary was born on March 19, 1963, in Richmond, and was the daughter of Charles and Sue Rison Conner. She was a business owner and general contractor, She was a founder of the Clark Moore's Middle School soccer program as well as the Madison County 4-year-old soccer program, and was a member of Ashland Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Conner, and a brother, Larry Wayne Conner.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by: one son, Jonathan Johnson (Kristie), of Richmond; one daughter, Melissa Weaver (Jonathan), of Richmond; two other children, Lloyd Conner (Sarah) and Taylor Conner (Genie), of Richmond; one sister, Joanna Drake, of Cincinnati, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Dylan Johnson, Zoey Conner, Jonathan Weaver, Peyton Johnson, Kaytlyn Weaver, Preston Johnson, Rowyn Conner, Colton Conner, and Chloe Jackson; one nephew, Austin Drake; and she was a nanny to several children.
Funeral service for Mary Johnson will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeremy Haskins and Terry Conner officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Walden, Joe Martin, Brandon Jackson, Noah Noble, Curtis Johnson, and Johnny McIntosh. Honorary bearers will be Roe Junior and Judy McQueen.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell.
