Mrs. Mary Edna Story, 92, widow of Frank Story, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017.
Mrs. Story was born on June 17, 1925, in Jackson County to the late William Allen and Millie Mae Messer Gray. She was a child caregiver for several years and a member of the Broadway Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her daughter, Jo Ann Davis (Garnett); one sister, Dora Gray Foster; three grandchildren, DeAnn Metcalfe (Kellis), Patricia Story and Daphne Crutcher (Dan); and nine great-grandchildren, Jason Rogers, Jessica Sell, Caleb & Kyle Crutcher, Peyton, Noah, Logan, Olivia & Eli Metcalfe.
In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by: one son, Rondle Story, one daughter-in-law, Ruby Story; four brothers, Robert, Ray, Ross, and Ramie Gray; and two sisters, Nellie Shifflet and Martha Goins.
Funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon Thursday, September 28, 2017, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Guiley officiating.
Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Jeff Johnson, Mark Gray, Dan Crutcher, Kellis Metcalfe, Vernon Ross Bennett and Rex Alexander. Honorary Pallbearers will be: her Great-Grandchildren and Scott and Chris Anderson.
