Mildred Daniel Rhodes, 93, died December 13, 2016, of natural causes.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Richmond Church of Christ, 1500 Lancaster Road. Mr. Jack Hall will officiate.
Mrs. Rhodes was born on December 12, 1923, to Hank and Ollie Daniel in East Nashville, Tennessee. She obtained her Associates Degree from David Lipscomb College.
She married her husband, Byno, on March 18, 1946, after his discharge from the service. They had a daughter, Gail, in 1948 and moved to Harrogate, Tennessee in 1949, where they had three more children, Buddy, Karen and Billy.
The Rhodes family moved to Richmond in 1958 where Dr. Rhodes taught at EKU. In 1960, Mildred began working part-time, and later full-time, for the Kentucky Department of Human Resources; retiring in 1986.
Mildred was baptized at age 12 by her future husband and was a committed, life-long Christian, in word and deed.
She is survived by: two daughters, Gail Rhodes and Karen Glass; a son, Bill (Patty); nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 68 years, and one son, Byno R. Rhodes II (Buddy).
Visitation will be at Oldham, Roberts, and Powell Funeral Home on Barnes Mill Road from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, December 15. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Portland, Tennessee.
