Nannie's Story

Nannie Elizabeth (Edwards) Cordero, 94, formerly of Lexington, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, January 20, 2018, while living in Harrisburg, North Carolina.

Born September 6, 1923, in Estill County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Ed and Stella (Wilson) Edwards. Nannie loved being homemaker, gardening, flowers and her pets. She was a loving mother, and of the Baptist faith.

She was the widow of Manuel Cordero, and is survived by one son, James Manuel Jim Cordero of Harrisburg, NC; one grandson, Aaron Cordero and one great grandson, Jacob Cordero, both of Lexington, SC; one step-grandson, Rick Bolin of Georgetown, KY, and several nieces and nephews. The family takes great refuge in the scripture that promises to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord.

Also preceding her in death was one granddaughter, Carrie Elizabeth Cordero; her brothers, Joe, Leslie and John Edwards; her sisters, Norma Hensley, Estelle Brummer, Lucy Turner Edwards Collins, Modena and Josie Edwards, and Ann Adams.

Graveside service for Nannie Cordero will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Richmond Cemetery, with Rev. Bill Fort officiating. Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
