Paul Dean Cox, 82, of Richmond, passed away Monday, September 4, 2017, at Madison Health and Rehabilitation.
Mr. Cox, the son of Reubin Cox and Ila Mae Durbin Cox, was born in Madison County on November 13, 1934.
He was a retired farmer, enjoyed playing his harmonica and was an avid NASCAR fan.
On November 22, 1955, Paul was united in marriage to Virginia Elizabeth "Jennie" Middleton Cox who preceded him in death on May 18, 2006. They had celebrated 50 years together.
Survivors include: two daughters Connie Doughty of Danville and Terri Bailey of Richmond; his brother: Johnny Cox and Lois; seven sisters: Jewell Jones and Lewis, Linda Bloss, Etta Carpenter, Brenda Cadman and Dick, Isabell Roberts, Alverta White and Stella Crowe; five grandchildren: Jaime Bristow and Thomas, Paul David Cox and Deann, Darrell Anglin and Jessica, Jerry Bailey and Maggie Doughty, as well as, eight great grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cox was preceded in death by two brothers: James "Jimmy" Cox and Perry Cox and his sister: Mabel Lewis.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Sproles, Ricky A. Middleton, Ricky D. Middleton, James Middleton, Marcus Daff, and Johnny Cox. www.cpcfh.com
